Resend Completed-Order Alerts

Menu Location: Reports > Resend Completed-Order Alerts

Overview

The Resend Completed-Order Alerts tool re-sends the "Order in Complete Status" notification for every completed order in a date range. Use it to bulk backfill receipts, such as when the alert was switched off for a period and needs to be caught up, or when a batch of receipts has to go to a new address.

The emails contain the same receipt content as the normal completed-order alert, so what accounting receives from a resend matches the standard notification.

Primary Features

Date range:

  • Pick a start and end date. Defaults to the last 14 days through today. Orders are matched by their ship date.

Send as:

  • One combined digest - a single email per recipient with all matched receipts, oldest order first (the default).
  • One email per order - a separate full receipt email per order, per recipient.

Send to:

  • One or more recipient email addresses, comma-separated. Prefilled with the admin users subscribed to the "Order in Complete Status" alert.

Preview:

  • Shows the digest rendered inline on the page without sending anything. The page also lists the matched orders (order number, customer, ship date, total) with a running total.

Send:

  • Queues the emails for delivery. A confirmation dialog shows how many orders will be sent, and a summary reports how many emails were queued.

Common Use Cases

Backfill accounting for a past period:

  1. Set the date range to cover the period the alert was off.
  2. Choose one combined digest or one email per order.
  3. Confirm the recipients, then click Send.

Forward receipts to a new address:

  1. Pick the date range for the orders to include.
  2. Replace the recipient list with the new address.
  3. Click Preview to verify the batch, then Send.

Catch up a batch by date:

  1. Set the start date to the point where accounting last received alerts.
  2. Set the end date to today.
  3. Review the matched orders and total, then send as a digest.

Troubleshooting

  • No completed orders found - A warning shows when no completed orders fall inside the range; check the dates and the orders' ship dates.
  • Invalid recipients - Sending with no valid addresses shows an error. Separate addresses with commas; any entry without an email address is dropped.
  • Emails are queued, not instant - The confirmation says "Queued N email(s)". Delivery happens through the normal email queue.
