Overview¶
The Email Capture Conversions report shows how many people who gave you their email through a drip campaign signup actually became customers. It matches captured subscriber emails against real customer accounts and measures the lead-to-customer funnel: overall conversion rate, how many drip emails each person received before converting, and how long it took.
The report answers questions like "Of everyone who gave us an email, how many became customers?" and "Which campaigns bring in the most new customers?"
Primary Features¶
Filter by date range and campaign¶
- From and To date fields limit the report to emails captured during that window (blank From = all time, blank To = today).
- Campaign dropdown narrows the report to one drip campaign, or All campaigns.
- Click Search to apply the filters.
Headline numbers¶
- Emails captured - total distinct emails captured in the filter window. Only emails that came in before the person became a customer (or that never became customers) count. Emails added to a list after the person was already a customer, like on a retention list, are not counted.
- Became customers - how many of those emails now belong to a Customer account created on or after the capture date. A secondary line shows how many were already customers when added.
- Conversion rate - new customers divided by emails captured.
- Avg drip emails before converting - how many drip emails the average converted customer received before their account was created.
Charts¶
- Emails received before converting - bar chart grouping converted customers by how many drip emails they received first (0, 1, 2, 3, 4, or 5+).
- Time to become a customer - bar chart grouping converted customers by time from email capture to account creation (same week, 8-30 days, 31-90 days, 91-180 days, 180+ days). The caption shows the average number of days.
- Captured vs became customers, by campaign - bar chart comparing emails captured to new customers for each campaign.
By campaign table¶
Lists each campaign with Emails captured, New customers, and Rate (conversion percentage), ordered by emails captured, highest first. A capture counts for a campaign only when it came in on or before the day that person became a customer. Lists people are added to after they're already customers (retention lists like "Keep the New Customers coming back" or "Canceled customers") are not email captures, so they are left out of this acquisition report.
Customers who started as an email signup¶
A detailed list of every captured email that became a customer, showing:
- Customer - name (linked to the customer's account) and email address
- Email captured - the date the email was first captured
- Became customer - the date the customer account was created
- Days to convert - time between the two (or "already a customer" if the account existed before the capture)
- Emails received first - how many drip emails were sent before they became a customer
The list is ordered by most recent conversions first and includes CSV export and print buttons.
What counts as a conversion¶
"Became a customer" means the captured email now has a Customer account that was created on or after the day the email was captured. This measures new customer acquisition.
Win-back re-activations are not counted. A cancelled customer who rejoins after a win-back email does not create a new customer record, so that rejoin does not show up here. Use the Reactivations report for stopped customers who come back.
Retention-list captures are not counted. An email added to a list after the person was already a customer (for example "Keep the New Customers coming back" or "Canceled customers") is not a lead capture. It does not count toward that campaign's captured total, the overall Emails captured number, or the conversion rate.
Common Use Cases¶
Measure the value of your email signup list¶
Goal: See how many captured emails turn into paying customers
- Open the Email Capture Conversions report (leave the date fields blank for all time).
- Review the headline numbers for total emails captured and conversion rate.
- Use the By campaign table to see which campaigns perform best.
- Export the customer list for follow-up analysis.
Compare campaigns¶
Goal: See which drip campaigns acquire the most new customers
- Leave the Campaign dropdown on All campaigns.
- Check the Captured vs became customers chart and the By campaign table.
- Look for campaigns with high capture counts but low conversion, or the reverse.
Assess drip email pacing¶
Goal: Understand how many emails it takes before someone converts
- Review the Emails received before converting chart.
- Review the Time to become a customer chart for time-to-convert.
- Use the Avg drip emails before converting tile as a summary.
Troubleshooting¶
The report shows zero or few conversions¶
The report matches captured emails against customer accounts by email address. Common reasons for a low count:
- The date range excludes when the emails were captured (the dates filter on email capture, not on customer signup).
- Customers used a different email address than the one they signed up with.
- The conversions were win-back re-activations of returning customers, which this report intentionally excludes (see the Reactivations report).

Recent Updates¶
2026-08-26: New report added. Shows drip/email-capture lead-to-customer conversion: captured emails that became customers, conversion rate by campaign, emails received before converting, and time to convert.
2026-08-28: Fixed campaign attribution so retention lists no longer inflate the report. An email now counts as captured for a campaign only when the capture came on or before the day that person became a customer. Lists people are added to after they are already customers (like "Keep the New Customers coming back" or "Canceled customers") no longer show up as captures or new customers, so the captured count, conversion rate, and per-campaign numbers are accurate.
