Apple Pay & Google Pay¶

Overview¶
This page turns on Apple Pay and Google Pay for your store. Both wallets are collected through Stripe, so they only work when Stripe is the store's active payment gateway. Once a domain is registered here, the wallet buttons appear automatically inside the normal Stripe card form at signup and on the billing-update page, there is nothing to add to your site.
Registration is a single call to Stripe made with your store's own Stripe key. Stripe performs Apple's merchant validation on its servers, so there is no file to upload or host.
Primary Features¶
- Shows whether Apple Pay / Google Pay are available for this store
- Lists the domains currently registered with Stripe, with Apple Pay and Google Pay status for each
- Registers a new domain with Stripe
- Re-checks a registered domain when Stripe hasn't confirmed it yet
- Enables or disables wallets on a registered domain
Registered Domains¶
The table lists every domain registered with Stripe for this store.
| Column | Meaning |
|---|---|
| Domain | The bare domain registered with Stripe |
| Enabled | Whether wallets are allowed to show on that domain |
| Apple Pay | Stripe's validation status for Apple Pay on that domain |
| Google Pay | Stripe's validation status for Google Pay on that domain |
Each row has these actions:
- Re-check, asks Stripe to validate the domain again. Use it if a domain shows as inactive after registering.
- Disable, stops wallets from showing on that domain (you'll be asked to confirm).
- Enable, turns wallets back on for a domain that was disabled.
Registering a Domain¶
Enter the bare domain your store loads on, for example store.example.com, with no https:// and no path, then click Register with Stripe.
Stripe usually finishes verifying the domain within a minute, after which wallets appear at checkout on supported devices.
If you run your store on both www. and non-www. addresses, register each one separately, they count as two domains.
Steps:
- Open Payments > Apple Pay & Google Pay.
- Type the domain in the Register a domain field. The field suggests the domain you're currently on, but you can edit it.
- Click Register with Stripe.
- Wait for the Apple Pay and Google Pay columns to show Active (use Re-check if they don't).
When the Page Shows a Notice Instead of the Tool¶
If Stripe is not the active gateway, the page explains why and does not show the domain list or registration form:
- Stripe credentials on file, but Authorize.net is the default gateway, the page notes that Apple Pay / Google Pay become available if Stripe is made the default gateway. The default gateway is set in Payment Settings.
- No Stripe credentials (store runs on Authorize.net), the page notes that Apple Pay / Google Pay via Authorize.net is a separate option and to contact Kiva Logic if you want it.
Recurring Billing and Wallets¶
Customers who pay with a wallet save their card on file exactly like a typed card. Your weekly auto-billing continues unchanged. When a customer updates their card on the billing page through Stripe, the Apple Pay sheet shows the recurring terms (that this is a repeat charge, the regular amount, and how often), so the customer knows they're authorizing ongoing billing.
Troubleshooting¶
A domain won't go active¶
Stripe may still be verifying it. Click Re-check on the row. If it stays inactive, hover the (?) next to the Inactive badge to see Stripe's reason, and confirm the domain is spelled correctly and actually loads your store with HTTPS.
Wallets don't show at checkout¶
Confirm the domain the customer is actually using is registered, a www. address and a non-www. address are separate registrations, and a custom or alternate domain needs its own row. Also confirm the wallet is set up on the customer's own device (a card in Apple Wallet, or Google Pay configured).
The page says Stripe isn't the active gateway¶
Either your store has no Stripe credentials, or Authorize.net is set as the default gateway. Check Payment Settings. If you have Stripe credentials but Authorize.net is the default, making Stripe the default gateway enables this page.
Couldn't load registered domains¶
The page shows Stripe's error message. This usually means the Stripe key is missing, expired, or revoked. Verify the credentials in Payment Settings.
Recent Updates¶
2026-10-04¶
New page. Lets a Stripe store register its web domains so Apple Pay and Google Pay appear automatically in the Stripe checkout. Includes domain listing with per-wallet status, re-check, enable/disable, and a register-domain form. Stores that don't run Stripe as their active gateway see an explanation instead of the tool.
Recurring charges for wallets are also handled: the Apple Pay sheet now shows the recurring terms, and the weekly off-session charge is flagged to Stripe as merchant-initiated so saved wallet cards settle without extra authentication prompts.
