Overview

The Printed Messages by Box page manages custom messages that appear on packing slips for specific box types or subscription plans. These targeted messages override or supplement default messages, allowing customized communication based on what customers ordered.

Primary Functions:

  • Create box-type-specific packing slip messages
  • Target messages to subscription tiers (e.g., Family Box, Individual Box)
  • Provide product-specific instructions or information
  • Customize messaging by box size or category
  • Override default messages for specific boxes
  • Schedule seasonal messages by box type

Common Use Cases

Use Case 1: Family Box Welcome Message

Goal: Provide specific information for large family box orders

Steps:

  1. Select box type: "Family Box"
  2. Create message: "Family Box Tips"
  3. Text: "Your family box contains approximately 15 lbs of produce, perfect for a family of 4-5. Store leafy greens with damp paper towel to extend freshness."
  4. Set as permanent message for all Family Box orders
  5. Save

Use Case 2: Meat Box Handling Instructions

Goal: Ensure proper meat storage and safety

Steps:

  1. Select box type: "Meat Box"
  2. Create message: "IMPORTANT: Meat Handling"
  3. Text: "Freeze meat immediately if not using within 2 days. Thaw in refrigerator, never on counter. Cook to safe internal temps: Poultry 165°F, Ground meat 160°F, Steaks 145°F."
  4. Priority: High (safety critical)
  5. Save
