Overview

Seasons define product availability periods based on harvest schedules and sourcing calendars. Manage seasonal items and control when products appear in menus.

Primary Functions:

  • Define seasonal periods
  • Link products to seasons
  • Control product availability by dates
  • Track seasonal inventory
  • Plan menu rotations

Season Configuration

Creating Seasons

Fields:

  • Season Name: Identifier (e.g., "Summer 2026", "Fall Harvest")
  • Start Date: When season begins
  • End Date: When season ends
  • Description: Season notes
  • Active: Currently available

Typical Seasons:

  • Spring (March-May)
  • Summer (June-August)
  • Fall (September-November)
  • Winter (December-February)
  • Year-Round (ongoing)

Product Assignment

Linking Products to Seasons

In Product Settings:

  1. Edit product
  2. Select season from dropdown
  3. Save product

Result:

  • Product only available during season dates
  • Auto-shows/hides based on current date
  • Menu updates automatically

Seasonal Menu Management

Planning Seasonal Rotations

Best Practices:

  1. Plan seasons 3 months ahead
  2. Assign products to appropriate seasons
  3. Set up email announcements
  4. Update marketing materials
  5. Monitor seasonal sales

Transition Periods

Handle season changes:
